M-PESA Mobile Money at POS and ATM

We have enhanced Way4’s interface to M-PESA, a mobile money transfer service based in Kenya with operations across Africa and the Middle East. Now Way4 supports more types of POS and ATM operations for owners of M-PESA accounts. The transaction scenarios comply with Safaricom specifications.

Among the new supported M-SEPA transaction types are:

  • ATM cash-out where an M-PESA user is identified via the mobile phone number

  • Retail purchase, where a cashier enters the transaction amount and M-PESA number on POS, and the buyer receives a push notification on mobile to confirm the payment.

We plan to create similar interfaces for other mobile money payments providers such as Airtel.
