Way4 has introduced a standard integration API for wallet applications and digital banking, enabling real-time access to account and card information from external payment systems.
Previously, displaying any payment instrument in the wallet required its registration within the Way4 system. For each external payment method, a separate contract was created, for example, a contract for debit cards. After this, external accounts would be linked to internal ones. Balances for these instruments were retrieved via Core Banking interface (CB gate) or a similar interface. Now, external payment instruments can remain in their original Core Banking Systems while Way4 retrieves data on cards and accounts in real-time, providing a complete view of all payment methods from both Way4 and external systems. This approach greatly simplifies payment management within the platform.
Through Rest API requests, Way4 can now access account numbers, card PANs, card tokens, balances, and card statuses. This data is stored in the Way4 database not as issued contracts or accounts, but as independent entities with assigned names, statuses, types, and expiration dates, allowing them to be displayed alongside other payment methods. As before, users retain access to balance and payment instrument details and can make deposits and withdraw funds from their account.
This new functionality makes it significantly easier to manage payment instruments for our clients—banks, processors, and fintech companies.
