OpenWay and FG Group Form Strategic Partnership to Support Tajikistan’s Digital Payments Ecosystem

Written by Admin | July 3, 2026

As banks, processors and fintechs in Tajikistan look to launch new customer propositions, they must manage integration complexity, operational resilience, and evolving customer expectations. The partnership between OpenWay and FG Group will create new opportunities for them to accelerate the launch of modern digital payment services thanks to Way4’s broad functional capabilities, OpenWay’s international implementation experience, and FG Group’s deep understanding of the local market.

The collaboration will help market participants launch and scale modern payment products with local project support, qualified assistance, and delivery in the same time zone. FG Group’s local team will support projects in local language and assist across key stages of implementation and reliable operations.

Way4 is OpenWay’s digital payments platform relied on by Tier 1 and 2 banks, processors, fintechs, and payment companies globally. It supports card issuing, digital wallets, merchant acquiring, payment switching, real-time payments, and other payment services on a single real-time platform.

“Digital transformation now goes far beyond the automation of card business and processing. A modern payments platform can become the foundation for a full digital payments ecosystem that brings together payments and transfers, digital wallets, government services, e-commerce, and partner offerings. Way4 already supports payment ecosystems across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, and can be adapted to different business models and local requirements,” said Roman Zaretsky, Regional Director for Central Asia at OpenWay.

“FG Group has been operating in Tajikistan for 19 years and understands the needs of local organizations, reliability requirements, and the specifics of implementing complex IT solutions. By combining our expertise in systems integration and IT infrastructure with OpenWay’s international experience and the capabilities of Way4, we are ready to support the next stage of development for Tajikistan’s digital payments ecosystem. We believe this partnership will help make digital financial services more accessible to citizens, entrepreneurs, and small businesses — not only in major cities, but also across the country’s regions,” said Faridun Akbarov, Founder and CEO of FG Group.
