Equens SE, one of Europe’s largest and most innovative payment processors covering more than 15% of the European acquiring market, has chosen WAY4 for its new SEPA-compliant acquiring platform.
To meet SEPA requirements, Equens was looking for a powerful and flexible processing platform able to adapt products easily to new markets. Equens also wanted the ability to introduce international brands, while coping with volume growth and maximising the efficiency of operational costs. Furthermore, Equens needed to offer tailor-made products to its merchants. After considering several alternatives, in 2008 Equens decided to rely on the high-level expertise and proven experience of the OpenWay team.

“The flexibility and reliability of WAY4 solutions and the high quality of our system support services have already been acknowledged by many financial institutions, payments processors and telecommunication companies operating on different continents. Our cooperation with other leaders in technology assures our place right at the forefront of payments innovation. We are proud that Equens has selected our WAY4 solution, which I am confident will help them to introduce new value-added services.”Wim Pardon, Managing Director of OpenWay Belgium comments:
Although the project was complex and required implementation within a tight schedule of six months, Equens described the implementation as a great success. The company is now confident that it has the right technology foundation to support future innovation as part of the Europe-wide SEPA programme.
Equens started the year 2009 serving 50,000 merchants on the WAY4 platform and is ready for further significant business growth.
