OpenWay’s Successful Testing of Fault-Tolerance Capability at Oracle-Red Hat LEAP Centre Reaffirms Commitment with Banking Customers

OpenWay, an international software developer, today announced that its switch and card management solution, WAY4, has successfully demonstrated fault tolerance capability running on Oracle Real Application Clusters at the Oracle-Red Hat Linux Enterprise Applications Porting (LEAP) Centre in Singapore.

September 1, 2005 - SINGAPORE

WAY4 is the first payments solution to achieve LEAP Centre certification for Oracle Database 10g and Red Hat Enterprise Linux v.3. The testing and demonstration reaffirmed OpenWay’s commitment to its financial customers who require payment solutions that are always available and always capable of transacting complex product.
Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) is an option to the award-winning Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition. Oracle RAC provides options for scaling applications beyond the capabilities of a single server. This allows customers to take advantage of lower cost commodity hardware to reduce their total cost of ownership and provide a scaleable computing environment that supports their application workload.
Wim Pardon, Director of OpenWay Belgium, said "OpenWay continues to set the industry standard by working with leading-edge technologies. WAY4’s performance resiliency and unmatched dependability are greatly enhanced by Oracle Real Application Clusters technology, which enables horizontal scaling of the database server tier and delivers a near ‘zero failure environment’ in a 24x7 environment."
“The LEAP Centre has successfully helped ISVs for the Financial Services industry such as OpenWay to become certified on Linux,” said Alan Payne, vice president, Financial Services, Oracle Asia Pacific. “Partners want tested configurations that they can use confidently. The successful fault tolerance testing of WAY4 on Oracle Real Application Clusters showcases OpenWay’s leadership in delivering fault tolerant and scalable payments solution on an open standard environment. OpenWay and Oracle are committed to providing banking customers with a reliable, scalable, high-performance and inter-operable platform for their mission-critical applications.”
